Matthew CHAPMAN

Matthew Chapman has been creating art all his life, expressing his ideas through drawings, paintings, digital art and 3D. His subjects of interest have been centred around Victorian/Edwardian architecture, design and storytelling, sea disaster, mysteries and the natural environment.

In 2011, Matthew joined The Arts and Letters Club of Toronto where he’s been an active member in the arts and stage committee. In 2012, he featured his first solo show exhibition themed on the subject of the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic; a collection of 80 paintings telling the story of the disaster.

Matthew’s recent work in 3D visual design includes historical recreations and environment assets for the sci-fi fantasy film, The Mechanical Boy (2022), and architectural/interior visuals for the latest season for HGTV’s Mike Holmes, Holmes Family Rescue (2022). Matthew has also collaborated with Green Room Music; a contemporary music and arts organization consisting of undergrad composers for their interactive Unity-based project, The Gallery (2020), where he built the explorable 3D gallery space.

Currently, Matthew is developing his skills in 3D design and animation, with intent to eventually explore interactive media, project management and VR. He is open to commission work, and is hosting a website on Patreon called Matt Chapman’s Gothic Greenhouse for fans to subscribe and support his ongoing projects, including an expansive mystery game with detailed digital art inspired by the popular board game, Clue.
